Arif Naqvi is the Vice Chairman and Chief Executive of Abraaj Capital, based in Dubai.
Abraaj Capital is the largest private equity firm in the MENASA region with capital of over US$ 1 Billion and managing 7 funds totaling an additional US$ 4 Billion.
Mr. Naqvi is a member of the Young Presidents Organization, where he was the Emirates Chapter Chairman in 2002-2003. He has been designated a New Asian Leader by the World Economic Forum (WEF) in 2003-2004. He is a member of numerous think tanks and policy groups such as the Arab Business Council of the WEF and is a Board Member of the Pakistan Human Development Fund, the King Abdullah II Award for Youth Innovation & Achievement in Jordan, the Dubai Government Education Endowment Fund in the UAE and a member of the EMPEA Advisory Council.
Mr. Naqvi has been recognized as one of the 50 most influential people in the Private Equity industry by Private Equity International Magazine in June 2007 and has been awarded the highest civilian honor in Pakistan, Sitari-e-Imtiaz, by the Republic’s President in 2006.
He received his education at the LSE and worked previously with Arthur Andersen and Co, American Express Bank, The Olayan Group and Cupola. He is married with two children.
