Appu Mundassery leads Highland Capital’s European business activities based in London. The 15 person, fully integrated team is responsible for managing approximately 5.5 billion euros in high yield loans, bonds and mezzanine debt.

Prior to assuming his current responsibilities and relocating to London in 2005, he managed non-investment grade debt portfolios in the Retail and Consumer Products sectors for Highland Capital in the United States. Prior to joining Highland Capital in 2003, he was an investment banker in the Leveraged Finance Group at DLJ and Credit Suisse First Boston. Prior to joining DLJ, he worked with Nightingale & Associates, a consulting firm specializing in middle-market restructurings and turnaround situations.

Mr. Mundassery is a graduate of Brown University and earned an MBA from the Wharton School of Business. He has earned the right to use the Chartered Financial Analyst designation.
