Alex Dibelius

A.Dibelius is chairman of Goldman Sachs in Germany and Eastern Europe. He is a member of the European Management Committee and the Global Investment Banking Operating Committee.

Mr. Dibelius joined the firm in London in 1993 as an associate. He worked in Mergers & Acquisitions in London, New York and Frankfurt. In Frankfurt, he was co-head of Mergers & Acquisitions for the German Region and subsequently co-head of Investment Banking in the German Region. He became a managing director in 1997 and a partner in 1998.

From 1987 to 1992, Alex was a partner at McKinsey & Co., with responsibility for Switzerland, Austria and Germany. Prior to that, he worked as a surgeon at University Hospital of Freiburg, Germany.

Alex earned an MD in 1984 and a PhD in 1986 from the University of Munich. He is a member of the Credit Committee of the German Banking Association and serves on several supervisory boards of German portfolio companies associated with Goldman Sachs’ Principal Investment activities.
