With this extraordinary line-up of speakers it promises to be the leading Private Equity & Hedge Fund conference in Europe this year. The LSEsu AIC will continue to attract top students from major universities who are likely to be among the future leaders in the Alternative Investments Industry. Speakers will address an audience consisting of approximately 350 students at undergraduate, MBA and PhD levels from schools throughout Europe including LSE, LBS, INSEAD, Oxford and others. We also anticipate the attendance of approximately 30 professionals and academics at this event.
The LSEsu Alternative Investments Conference was designed to provide an opportunity for students, academics and professionals interested in Private Equity and Hedge Funds to meet and discuss relevant emerging topics as well as learn about the history and fundamentals of alternative investments. The two-day conference taking place 14-15 January 2008 will include workshops, interdisciplinary panels, and keynotes speeches by professionals and academics. The conference is sponsored by the LSEsu Private Equity Society in collaboration with the LSEsu Business Society and LSEsu Finance Society.
The keynote PE Panel will feature Marc Rowan (Founding Partner, Apollo Management), Lord Clive Hollick (Partner, KKR) and David Blitzer (Senior MD, Blackstone). The topic of the panel has yet to be confirmed. This forum will be open to all conference participants.
Workshops will be more intimate and hands-on. Firms such as Blackstone [TBC] and Sankaty Advisors (Bain Capital) will work through case studies in 50-80 person groups. This will give participants an opportunity to ask questions and better understand the firms’ goals, methods and day-to-day decision making process and provide the firm with an opportunity to interact with top students.
