  1. What is the AIC?
    The AIC (Alternative Investments Conference) is a two day event designed to provide professionals, academics and students with the opportunity to meet and discuss Private Equity and Hedge Fund related topics.

  2. When and at what time will the AIC be held?
    The AIC will be held on the 14th and 15th of January 2008. The schedule can be found here.

  3. Where will the AIC be held?
    The conference will be held at the New Connaught Rooms on Great Queen Street, approximately a five minute walk from both the LSE campus and Covent Garden Please click here for maps and directions.

  4. Who is hosting the AIC?
    The conference is hosted by the LSESU Private Equity Society, the LSESU Business Society and the LSESU Finance Society. Click here for more information.

  5. How many people are expected to attend?
    We expect a total of 350 visitors to attend the conference.

  6. Do I have to register in advance?
    Yes, attendance to the conference is by registration only. Registration opens November 15th and closes December 1th

  7. How much does it cost to attend?
    The cost of attendance is £60 for all students, £100 for LSE Alumni and £200 for corporate attendees. This fee includes lunch on each day of the conference.

  8. I am only able to attend part of the conference; am I eligible for a discount?
    Unfortunately, we are unable to offer discounts to any applicants. If you are only able to attend part of the conference you must still pay the full attendance cost.

  9. Do members of the organising societies have to register if they plan to attend?
    Yes. Everyone who wishes to attend the conference must register.

  10. How do I register for the conference?
    To register for the conference, click here. Please note that we do not accept phone registrations.

  11. Will I receive a confirmation email?
    You should receive a confirmation email after your application has been submitted. If you do not receive an email, contact us at mail@lseaic.co.uk.

  12. How will I know that my registration was successful?
    You will receive an official invitation via e-mail once we have accepted your registration. Once you are accepted you will be asked for payment within seven days.

  13. When will I find out if I have been selected?
    We will notify you by email by 8th of December if your application is successful.

  14. Will my registration cover both conference days?
    Yes, a successful registration covers both days.

  15. Can I enter / leave the AIC at any time?
    As a registered attendee, you can enter and leave the conference at any time between the talks and workshops. The schedule can be found here.

  16. What overnight accommodation is available?
    AIC attendees are expected to arrange their own accommodation. Click here for accomodation suggestions and discounted hotel rates.

  17. What is the conference dress code?
    The conference dress code is business smart or business casual.

  18. Will my registration cover both conference days?
    Yes, a successful registration covers both days.

  19. When will I have to pay?
    If your application is successful then you will be asked to make your payment by the 14th of December 2007. Payments are accepted by credit card, debit card and PayPal.

  20. What is included in the price?
    Registration fees include all daytime conference events as well as a reception and meal each day of the conference. Registration fees do not cover transportation or accommodation

  21. How does workshops registration work?
    Each applicant will receive an email inviting to make a choice of workshops after paying their registration fee. All the options visible in the workshops registration tool still have places available. As soon as places are exhausted the option becomes disabled automatically. You will receive an email reminding you of your choices by 10 January 2008
