We are delighted to extend a warm welcome to the LSEsu and FMG Alternative Investments Conference 2009.
Over a short span of three years, the Conference has grown into the world’s largest student conference on private equity and hedge funds. We are honoured to have industry leaders return to share their insights and knowledge with over 350 students from more than 50 leading universities across the world.
This year is quite unlike the previous two, which were held in what was arguably the “golden era” for private equity and hedge funds. A central theme at this year’s Conference will be to explore the future of the alternative asset management industry in an age characterised by reduced leverage and increased regulation. We hope to present you a wide array of thoughtful opinion on what form the industry will take going forward.
We would like to thank the speakers who have kindly agreed to speak at keynotes, panels and workshops over the two days; they form the cornerstone of the Conference and are the reason we take the time and effort in congregating in central London for two days in chilly January. A special note of thanks also to our sponsors, both returning and new, who have agreed to support the Conference and its aims. And lastly, we would like to appreciate the collective enthusiasm and teamwork by Team AIC that has made this Conference possible.
